I saw a painting on the wall, It brought to me thoughts of beauty. It was a painting of a cross; It brought also thoughts of duty. It brought to me peace, a haven of rest, a feeling of tranquil hours. It brought also pain, a haunting refrain, but a touch of the Master's powers. The stairway leads down..to the lighted spot..where the symbol hangs on the wall. You don't usually think of looking down at a cross... But this has a message for all. It tells us that we must do His will, It is He who fillith our cup. It tells us also, if we but listen, We must be down..to look up! We must be down on bended knee, And give to Him our all. I saw This that day and will always remember... That painting on the wall.

A person of great dedication... A person of sterling worth... That's what you'll find in every nurse That the Good Lord put on this earth.
Some of us want to help others, Some..never even give it a thought. But a nurse is one who gives her all... Though no personal gain is sought.
Her training is rigid and demanding; Her sacrifices..not few; But always she's there and she's ready To show love and to comfort you.
Always she's there to be counted on Just when she's needed the most. Always she's there with the strength you may need.. But of this, she's the last one to boast.
There are many of these wonderful women in white Who show compassion with simply a smile. Many, who though their duty if rough, Will take time to just..visit awhile.
Yes, a nurse if one who is dedicated... With you..through sickness and ills, She goes with you through the valleys... But she's happiest when you climb the hills!

A sunrise in a western sky Is like none other ever seen, As God unfolds His majesty Across a giant screen.
A windmill seen in silhouette Against the amber sky, Brings to mind serenity And days of peace..gone by.
The colors now begin to fade In ever changing hues, And soon the sun in bright array... Bringing with it news...
That another new day is on its way. A day to enjoy and breathe a sigh, O'er the beauty of early morning... Written across a western sky.

What kind of shadow will you cast... When your day comes to an end at last? Will you look back and know it was strong... Even at times when things seemed to go wrong?
Will you look back and remember when... You resisted temptation about to begin? Will you look back and remember when... You found peace and quiet in the midst of din?
Will you stand and reflect from out of the past, From out of the long ago... Of the comfort your shadow might have cast, Though..perhaps you didn't know?
Will you think of the times someone helped you along... Life's sometimes "bumpy road"... And cast your shadow in word, in song, To help someone on with THEIR load?

When someone asks you to accept A gift he has for you, How do you handle the situation? How do you see it through?
Do you refuse a gift unless you Can give one in return? If this seems to be the case, my friend, You have a lot to learn!
It's true the Good Book tells us It's better to give than to receive. But then, of course,we all find this At times difficult to achieve.
It may be equally important To a friend, or loved one true, If you would only accept with grace The gift he has offered you.
A simple, humble "Thank You" May be just the gift, That your friend has been needing, To give his life a lift.
For it also says in the Good Book, If we study it at any length... It is in doing for others That we find our greatest strength.
