We are all far richer than we think we are If we'd take the time to see... And appreciate the friendships we have, And the friendships that someday will be.
We are richer every day... If we stop to think about The times we have succeeded... 'Tho we were filled with doubt.
Riches come in many forms... Not just dimes and dollars, Sometimes it's pennies of kindness, Learned from worldly scholars.
Many times we learn from a little child And the questions he might ask, And we are truly richer For having been brought to task.
We all have a universal bank account... In which we deposit...on which we borrow. When we spend wisely our pennies of kindness There will always be more for tomorrow.

My son, you're STILL a charmer... 'Tho now you're a grown up man. But I still don't ever want to forget When you lived in "Little Boy Land."
I still don't want to ever forget All the hours we've shared in the past. But I know that someday I'll have to let go... Of fond memories that last and last.
I guess all mothers have the tendency Not to let their children grow up... And I guess it's the same way with Aunties... And has been since Hector was a pup.
I want you to know I'm proud of you, For being a man..before it was time... For giving up some of your little boy dreams... So I'm saying so..in rhyme.
I want you to know you'll never regret The times you've given..of you... 'Tho days have not always been sunny... And skies have not always been blue.
Some day you'll know you're appreciated And how VERY much you're loved... My son, you're STILL a charmer... Sent from the man above.
I remember why I wrote this one and when. While standing at the kitchen sink doing dishes and looking out to the front yard, watching the kids playing, I was suddenly aware the six year old was standing by my side..waiting very patiently. I looked down at him and smiled...He said "Well, aren't you going to say I Love You?" Of course I did and he skipped out to play again. Stood there thinking...you are such a little charmer. A few days later he lost his father to a brain tumor and had to grow up much too quickly. Some years later I thought about that scene and wrote this.

"In the beginning God" Is the way the book begins; And just one word "Amen" Is the way it ends.
But in between the covers Lies the answers to all of life; To happiness and to health, Of struggle and of strife.
Some folks call it the Good Book, Some the word of God. By some it's read quite faithfully, Others think it's odd.
It has outsold all best sellers. It's been around for many years. It's been the cause of joyous days, And the ceasing of many tears.
It can make our lives more worth living, 'Till our last days on this sod, If we always just remember, "In the beginning, God"
