Is it a beautiful melody
Or is it something more?
Listen...and you may hear it today
As you've never heard it before.
Or be still and you may feel it...
As surely as earth and tide...
While you walk along together,
A loved one by your side.

Harmony...a beautiful melody...
Or the nearness of someone dear.
Or seeing two people work side by side,
Understanding without having to hear.
Perhaps it''s just knowing and caring
About someone other than self...
If you can but hear life's harmony,
You can put your troubles on a shelf.

When the day is over and night is drawing nigh...
Give to us, Dear Lord, the strength
We need from You on high.

The strength to face another day
And face it with a smile.
The strength that shows that You are near
And You've been there all the while.

The strength that comes from You to say
"Believe me child..Believe and pray...
Believe in me..Believe, I say and
You will have the strength you need this day."

A friend is a gift you give yourself,
A gift to forever treasure!
You couldn't possible put a price on it...
There are no standars by which to measure.

There are no rules or regulations
That say that you must care.
There's just a down deep feeling
That says..."I want to share".

It says "I often think of you
And often wish you well",
And " I think of the times that you were blue...
Tho' you might think I can't tell"

Yes, Friendship truly is a gift..
That means so very much;
A beautifully wrapped package...
That has the Master's touch.

The following was written October 5, 1976 for my special
niece, Judi. It has been set to music and I have sung it
at many weddings and at other musical programs.

You and I, in all the world
Chose to meet...and suddenly
All the love in all the world
You gave to me.

We shall always be in love,
All throughout eternity.
Tho' we have our many trials
Our love will be!

When we're lying side by side,
When at last each day is through...
I am am thankful to the Lord..
That He has sent me you.
And that you are mine alone..
And that you will always be...
As we walk together through a world
That's bright and free.

I will pledge to you my love..
As you, too, will pledge to me...
And together, you and I
Will always see...
The beauty of the earth,
And the calmness of the sea...
Yes, you and I in all the world..
Were meant to be.

Sorry you've been incapacitated
Sorry 'bout all your ills
We're sorry 'bout that hospital bit
And all those shots and pills!

But we're real glad you're on the mend
And feelin' better each day
And we're sending many good wishes
'til good health is here to stay!
