Since I can never find a card
To say what I want it to say..
I decided just to make you one,
So I started it today.

It has to say you are very special..
As you have been from the start!
It has to say you bring a special
Sunshine to my heart!

It has to say you are very, very loved
And very needed too.
And it should say a special blessing
Is always prayed for you.

It should say so many good things...
It wouldn't know where to stop and start.
And it should say "A Very Merry Christmas"
To you...from deep within my heart!! December 1978

"Come on...Join the choir..."
We've been asked time and time again.
What better way to serve The Lord
Or give nurture to a friend?

Yes, we've thought that might be nice...
I think I'd like to try it.
But so many tasks get in the way..
The thought remains...but we deny it.

There are so many other things to do..
And my voice isn't all that good..
And I'd hate to practice every Wednesday night
Tho I realize I should.

I can rationalize from morn till night
And make excuses all day long...
For not joining Creighton's choir
And lifting my voice in song.

It takes a good deal of love and dedication
To become a member tried and true.
That's why we'd like to say we appreciate
Each and every one of you!

How many times have I cursed my fate
and said "what a fool am I?"
How many times have I lost my faith
And because of this, heard myself cry?

How many times have my eyes Heavenly turned
When I knew not which way to go?
How many times have my thoughts seethed and burned
Because The Lord I did not know?

Too many times have I cursed and lost:
Too many times have I cried!
Too many times have I lost my way
And too many times have I sighed.

Now I must ask why I have done so
This answer I seek...I must find!
Because when I do find the answer
I shall also find peace of mind.

While I am wondering through this life
Enjoying each beautiful day
So many times I run across folks
Who seem to have lost their way

It seems there is always tension
Always a problem or two
It's not this way with everyone
But there seems to be quite a few

Life for them could be so pleasant
If they only knew someone cared
Their problems would be so much lighter
If only they could be shared

If the people who have the problems
Could just turn their thinking around
And always think first of another
Then caring and sharing would abound

If caring and sharing were thought about more
Wouldn't this be a nice place to live?
The sharing we could all do more of
And we all have the caring to give!

A child's hand in yours
What tenderness it brings
As you think back
About wonderous things.

That tiny sweet bundle
Who held on to your finger
Such heartwarming thoughts
That still seem to linger

The responsibilities it imposes
Is almost too much
Until you become conscious
Of the little one's touch.

Here is a life
To lead and to guide
He always feels safe
Because you are at his side

You know it will take more
Than your strength alone
And you know before long
That he will be grown

But you also know
You'll have the strength to guide
Because your Heavenly Father
Is there...by your side
