QUIET MOMENTS

Here it is..another new day, Sent from up above. Another day to work and play, And share a bit..of love.
Another day with twenty-four hours, To do with what I will. Hours alone and hours to share, And hours left over still.
Let me start this day expecting good, And surely good will come my way. Let me take time to see And really absorb the pleasantries of this day.
The day can only be what I make it... I must be careful what I think and say. It would be nice if this were a better world Because I lived today!

The beauty of the mountain side, The scent of the tall pine, A lovelier spot in this old world Would be mighty hard to find.
The quiet of the early morn... Would we ever get our fill? As the sun filters silently thru the trees And we absorb the peace and still.
The water babbling in the creek, Cleansing each grain of sand, Would make us take time to think awhile Of the beauty of this land.
The beauty of each wild flower, Growing in the meadow there below... The haunting call of the whippoorwill Through the wind or rain or snow.
After having seen this lovely spot And heard the song bird's trill... One is not likely to ever forget The beauty of Whippoorwill Hill.
Note: I wrote this after a visit to this beautiful spot in northern Arizona some years ago. Can still remember the beauty, the calm, and peace.

At every sunrise a new day is born... At every sunset, a day fades away. All too soon our dreams for tomorrow Fade into yesterday.
Yet the sun will rise tomorrow... Perhaps in splendor or with clouds of gray. But the one thing to keep our minds on... Is the happy thoughts of today.
We dare not worry about tomorrow... Or fret about what might be. We dare not remember the sorrow... That has come to you and me.
We can never take back the heartaches Or the unkind words we say. We can be of no help tomorrow... Without the happy thoughts of today.

"Somebody up there loves me," I can see it in the skies. "Somebody up there loves me," I can see it in other's eyes. Someone is forever guiding me... In everything I do. Someone sends me sunshine... Even when I'm feeling blue. Someone makes me conscious Of the beauty of this earth. Someone always makes me see The strength of my friends sterling worth. Someone offers a hand to grasp, And in so doing, helps me see... That I will never be alone.. "Somebody up there loves me."

It's Christmas time in our town, You can hear the people shouting. It's Christmas time in our town, And maybe Johnny's pouting... Because he just discovered Though he is full of Christmas cheer, To get those toys from Santa He was supposed to be good all year. This might make us stop and ponder... Take time to think awhile... About this Christmas season Which we all face with a smile. We are family folks and neighbors All throughout the year. An yet, for only a couple of weeks Are we filled with Christmas cheer. With our friends and our co-workers We mingle every day. And yet how very seldom Do you hear another say... "I wish for you and yours A life filled with peace and joys." Unless it is at Christmas time, The season of good will and toys. How seldom do we take the time At any other period of the year, To wish for one and all we meet A life of happiness and cheer? It really is a pity... Christmas can't last throughout the year... This time of peace and hope and joy When we know our Saviour is near.
